MASURF FS-2240 is a 43% active water soluble fluoroaliphatic/hydrocarbon surfactant blend in water. FS-2240 is an anionic surfactant system developed for leveling performance in coatings. FS-2240 offers superior stability in a non-flammable solution. MASURF FS-2240 is a surfactant blend designed to work as the only surfactant is systems where a balance of wetting, leveling, and emulsification is required. Optimizing both static and dynamic surface tension reduction properties, FS-2240 delivers low surface tension (22 dynes/cm @0.1% actives) with exceptional speed (35 dynes/cm @0.1% actives in under 200 milliseconds).
The combination of static/dynamic surface tension reduction properties with MASURF FS-2240 is ideal for application where wetting must develop instantly, yet reach the lowest equilibrium surface tension properties possible. In Floor Finish applications, FS-2240 imparts wetting performance (low surface tension) and coating smoothness (rapid leveling). Other applications include precision cleaning, electronics wafer polishing, anti-fog, rheology modification, mold release and anti-block.

Masurf FS-Fluorosurfactant evaluation guidelines
Masurf FS-Fluorosurfactants are effective at very low concentrations, typically 50-500 ppm, and can act synergistically with hydrocarbon and/or silicone surfactants. Evaluate in aqueous formulations at 0.1-0.5% active Masurf FS-Fluorosurfactant initially, then optimize by successively reducing the FS concentration by ½.
Masurf FS-Fluorosurfactants and Masurf FP-Fluoropolymers do not contain PFOS. Masurf FS and FP products are manufactured with telomerization process fluoroaliphatic intermediates that do not contain, release or have been shown to degrade to perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS).
